On arrival in
Mumbai, where we are transferred to our hotel. |

DAY 3
| MUMBAI |
|
|
After a morning
at leisure, we visit the Prince of Wales Museum, the Gateway
of India overlooking the harbour, and the Dhobi Ghat, a unique
and colourful outdoor laundry. We drive up Malabar Hill to the
lovely Hanging Gardens and Kamla Nehru Park. Back in the city,
we visit Mani Bhawan, a small museum dedicated to the life and
works of Mahatma Gandhi, and we end our day at bustling
Crawford Market. This evening enjoy welcome drinks and dinner.

DAY 4
| MUMBAI/UDAIPUR |
|
|
A cruise through
Bombay Harbour brings us to the magnificent rock-cut cave
temples on Elephanta Island. The Elephanta contains 6th-8th
century caves carved during the golden age of the Guptas,
inspired by the worship of Shiva. This afternoon we fly to
Udaipur. |
|

DAY 5
| UDAIPUR |
|
|
A morning
excursion takes us to Eklingji and Nagda Temples. Nagda is in
ruins, but one can still see glimpses of glorious days. This
evening we take a cruise on Lake Pichola to visit the Jag
Mandir Palace, built in the 15th century as a pleasure palace
for royal parties and functions. |

DAY 6
| UDAIPUR |
|
|
This day we will tour the
opulent City Palace; the Sahelion-ki-Bari, or "Garden of
Friends;" and the Crystal Gallery. |
|

DAY 7
| UDAIPUR/KUMBHALGARH |
|
|
After a morning
drive to Kumbhalgarh, we check into our hotel and enjoy lunch.
Then we visit Kumbhalgarh Fort and enjoy its superb views,
standing high above the pass to Udaipur. |

DAY 8

KUMBHALGARH/JODHPUR |
|
|
Our drive to
Jodhpur takes a full day. We stop for lunch and sightseeing en
route at Ranakpur. Its intricate white marble temples, nestled
in the picturesque Aravali Hills, date back to the 15th
century. We enjoy dinner after arriving at the hotel. |
|

DAY 9
| JODHPUR |
|
|
Once the capital
of the princely state of Marwar, Jodhpur is now the second
largest city of Rajasthan. We visit Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant
Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace and Mandore Garden. |

DAY 10

JODHPUR/JAIPUR |
|
|
After breakfast
we visit the Bishnoi Village. Then our time is at leisure
until we board our flight to Jaipur. |
|

DAY 11
| JAIPUR |
|
|
Jaipur
epitomizes the spirit of Rajputana. Despite growing into a
bustling metropolis, it retains its 18th-century character and
history. A morning excursion to Amber Fort precedes an
afternoon at leisure. |

| JAIPUR |
|
|
We visit Hawa
Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and the City Palace. |
|

DAY 13
| JAIPUR
- AGRA |
|
|
We drive from
Jaipur to Agra, enroute visit to the Fatehpur Sikri , built by
Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the late 16th
century, it is a veritable fairytale city built of red
sandstone, and its "ruins" are in pristine condition. We also
visit the Buland Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world. |

DAY 14
| AGRA |
|
|
Tour of the
imposing Agra Fort, built of red sandstone and marble. Later,
we visit the Taj Mahal at sunset to watch the beautiful white
marble turn slowly to soft, rosy pink. |
|

DAY 15

AGRA/DELHI |
|
|
We depart for
Delhi by land. En route we visit Sikandra, tomb of the great
Mughal emperor, Akbar. Tonight we gather for farewell drinks
and dinner. |
|

DAY 16
| DELHI |
|
|
Tour of the both Old
and New Delhi, include the Raj Ghat, the memorial site where
Mahatma Gandhi was cremated; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque
in India; the Red Fort, once the most opulent fort and palace
of the Mughal Empire; Humayun Tomb; the Qutub Minar and the
landmark Iron Pillar; and the Embassy Row to the Presidential
Palace. |
