The third
largest city in Karnataka, Mysore gets its name from
Mahishasura, the demon from Puranas, who used to rule here.
This city of palaces, flowers and sandalwood was once the
residence of the Maharajas of Mysore.
DAY 1
| ARRIVE
MYSORE
Arrive into
Mysore on your own. On arrival, transfer from the Mysore
railway station to the hotel. The rest of the day is free.
DAY 2
| MYSORE
This morning,
visit the famous Mysore Palace, embellished with stained glass
and domes and turrets giving it an ethereal air. Later, you
will drive just outside the city to Chamundi Hill and see the
shrine with its solid gold deity and a huge granite statue of
Nandi.
DAY 3
| DEPART
MYSORE
Today you will
be transferred back to Mysore railway station for your onward
journey.
