On arrival, at Bagdogra airport or New
Jalpaiguri railway station (on your own) you
will drive through the rich forests and
rolling tea gardens to Kalimpong(85 kms /
approx 3 1/2 hour drive) On arrival , you will
check into your hotel. The rest of the
afternoon is free to explore the colourful
markets and flower nurseries of this popular
hill station.
DAY 2

GANGTOK
This morning, proceed on a picturesque drive
through the lower Himalayan Mountain range to
the capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok(90 kms /
approx 3 hour drive). On arrival you will check
into your hotel. The rest of the afternoon ,is
at leisure to unwind and absorb the natural
beauty of the surrounding mountains.
DAY 3

GANGTOK
Today, after breakfast visit some of the
fascinating sights of Gangtok, which include
visits to Tashi Veiw Point from where you can
enjoy a panoramic view of Kanchenjunga (if
weather premits), the remains of the Palace of
the Chogyal, the Tsuklakhang or Royal Chapel
where many of the Royal weddings and
coronations took place.
Continue to the Enchey Ancient Monastery Do-drul
Chorten to catch a glimpse of young lamas
dressed in their traditional attire learing and
worshipping; and finally visit an Orchid
Sanctuary, which offers an amazing display of
more than 250 varieties of orchids (flowers
bloom between April to May and December to
January).
DAY 4

GANGTOK/PEMAYANGTSE
This morning,after breakfast, your journey
continues to Pemayangtse(135 kms / approx. 4
hr drive).Enroute,visit the Rumtek Monastery,
a monastery of great significance as it is
considered to be one of the finest examples of
Tibetan monastic art in Sikkim. Admire its
traditional architecture, beautifully carved
and painted woodwork and splendid murals.
Carry onwards to Pemayangtse, where on arrival
you will check into your hotel for dinner and
night stay.
DAY 5

PEMAYANGTSE / DARJEELING
This morning, after breakfast, you will visit
the Pemayangtse Monastery and admire the
beautifully painted frescoes on its walls and
ceilings. Then proceed on a memorable drive
through the pine forests and tea gardens to
the Victorian Hill Station of Darjeeling(95
kms / approx.4 hour drive). On arrival , you
will check into your hotel. The rest of the
evening is free to relax and enjoy a stroll to
the mall. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 6
|
DARJEELING
Very early this morning (around 4 am), drive
to Tiger Hill to witness the sunrise over the
Eastern Himalayan peaks, with fabulous views
of the famous Mount Kanchenjunga and Mount
Everest (subject to clear weather). Also enjoy
a tour of the hill station which includes
visit to the Zoological park, Himalayan
Mountaineering Institute, Ghoom Buddhist
Monastery - a typical Tibetan Monastery,
housing an image of the Maitreyee Buddha,
Gumbu rocksite and the Llyods Botanical garden
which has a fine collection of Himalayan flora
including the orchid. During your free time
visit the market square and enjoy shopping for
handicrafts. Return to hotel for dinner and
night stay.

DARJEELING
The day is free to relax and admire the
picturesque beauty of this quaint hill
station.

DARJEELING/ BAGDOGRA /
NEW
JALPAIGURI
Today you bid farewell to your 'Splendours of
the East' tour as you are transferred to Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway
station(95 kms / approx 3 hour drive) and
return home with happy memories
