New Delhi – Jaipur – Chittorgarh – Udaipur – Jaisalmer – Jodhpur – Bharatpur – Agra
 

Day 1: New Delhi This wonderful journey will begin at the Safdarjung Railway station in Delhi. You will be met with a warm, traditional welcome before the Palace-on-Wheels pulls out into the night for a week-long luxury tour through fascinating Rajasthan.


Day 2: Jaipur Your first stop is Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, and popularly known as the “Pink City”. Here you will visit HawaMahal, otherwise known as the Palace of Winds. This is followed by a visit to Amber Fort where you will be taken in royal style by elephant back or jeep to the gates of the Palace. After lunch visit the City Palace Museum and Observatory. Overnight train journey to SawaiMadhopur.


Day 3: SawaiMadhopur – Chittorgarh After breakfast you will visit Ranthambore National Park. This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be one of the country’s best for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger. Afterwards you will return to the Palace-on-Wheels where you will proceed to Chittorgarh, before arriving at Udaipur for your overnight stay.


Day 4: Udaipur Udaipur, the Lake City, was founded by MaharanaUdai Singh of Mewar in 1559A.D. Here you will see the magnificent marble palaces – the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichola. After lunch at a five star hotel, you will enjoy a visit to the City Palace, before re-boarding the train for your overnight journey.


Day 5: Jaisalmer In the heart of the TharDesert lies Jaisalmer, where the yellow sandstone fort towers over the city. After lunch on board, you will be taken on an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam. Enjoy dinner and a cultural programme at a five star hotel before your overnight journey to Jodhpur.


Day 6: Jodhpur This morning you will arrive in Jodhpur. It is the second largest city of Rajasthan – primarily known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. Here you will have the opportunity to shop for exquisite handicraft articles. After lunch at a Palace hotel you will return to the Palace-On-Wheels for your onward journey to Agra, via Bharatpur.


Day 7: Bharatpur / Agra In the morning you will arrive in Bharatpur. After breakfast, visit the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park. It is the nesting place for thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds. You will then depart for Agra where you will visit the Agra Fort and the TajMahal before re-boarding the train for your final overnight journey to Delhi.


Day 8: Delhi – Onward Destination On arrival at Delhi Safdarjung Railway station you will have a final breakfast on board before disembarking for onward destination.
